Dispatch of Technical Cooperation Experts and Acceptance of Environmental Technicians ● Background of the programs As part of "Joint Research on the Water Quality of the Lao He River in Liaoning Province", the following programs are carried out for environmental measurement training and technology transfer for technicians of Liaoning Province under the JICA programs. ●Dispatch of "Technical Cooperation Experts" �@ Period: December 8 to 23, 2003 �A Experts: 2 researchers of Toyama Prefectural Environmental Science and Research Center �B Accepting Organization Liaoning Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center, Liaoning Porvincial Environmental Protection Bureau �C ・Techniques Instructed ・Technique for the measurement of nitrate etc. causing marine　eutrophication ・Analysis technique for the analysis of toxic volatile organic compound like trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene ● Acceptance of "Overseas Participants of Technical Training Course" under 　JICA Program �@ Period: October 27 to December 12, 2003 �A Trainees: 2 technicians of Liaoning Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center, Liaoning Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau �B Training Organization Toyama Prefectural Environmental Science and Research Center �C Training items ・Survey on acid rain ・Survey on agricultural chemicals on golf links ・Research on biological effects by hazardous substances ・Technique for atmospheric monitoring ・Morphological analysis of nitrate Acceptance of Environmental Staff (as Trainee) from Korea Ms. Lee Jungkyung of the Environment Management Division, Gangneung city, Kanwon-do Province received training on environmental administration and international environmental cooperation as a trainee under the exchange program for staff of local entities of CLAIR (Council of Local Authorities for International Relations）. Training was carried out at Northwest Pacific Region Environmental Cooperation Center from July 1, 2003 to March 19, 2004.
