Projects to Promote Environmental Interaction

@It is important for the coastal countries and regions to cooperate closely in promoting the protection of the marine environment, based on the common understanding that the Sea of Japan and the Yellow Sea are shared resources for them.
@NPEC, thus, promotes information exchange and mutual co-operation among these countries and regions so that they may proceed with the marine environmental protection positively and voluntarily.

Q Management of the Environmental Subcommittee of the Association of North East Asia Regional Governments

@NPEC acts as the secretariat of the Environmental Subcommittee of the Association of North East Asia Regional Governments on the commission by Toyama Prefecture, which was elected as a coordinator at the meeting of the Subcommittee held in July 1999.

R Exchange of Environmental Cooperation Conference Groups

@NPEC is engaged in the secretarial works involving the dispatch and accept of the Environmental Cooperation Conference Groups, which Toyama Prefecture periodically exchanges with local governments of the coastal countries in the Northwest Pacific Region to deepen understanding toward the environment and strengthen mutual cooperation by exchanging opinions and making observations.

S Activities to Strengthen Domestic Partnerships

@NPEC holds various lectures, meetings and the like by inviting experts in international environmental cooperation, researchers and local officials involved in environmental protection, to nurture partnerships and to exchange information and know-how which are helpful to smooth and fruitful exchanges with the coastal countries and regions in the Region.
